One day when I was running in my local park, this thought came to my head…
“Life does not have to be so hard. Why do I keep banging my head against a brick wall? There must be a better way of finding happiness and joy in my life. Yes, I need to find a way to cherish, love, respect, appreciate and ever admire myself.”
This is a new way to look at yourself, and I know you aren’t used to it.
Since we were young, we were taught to serve others, to work hard and to achieve. The achievement was the way to love, acceptance and belonging.
You have never been taught that looking after yourself is not selfish. I suggest that it SHOULD actually be your priority. YOU are number one.
It isn’t selfish to be proud of yourself, to love yourself even to admire yourself.
It dawned on me that if I don’t start looking after myself, my life will be a constant struggle. It wasn’t narcissistic or an ego trip, but a shift in my belief system.
It’s the way to embrace your excellence, your worthiness, your sensuality – this is the meaning of Falling in Love with Yourself!
And what’s more, you’ll need to stop:
- Talking down to yourself
- Being unkind to yourself
With all my love
